Research note
One real product set: HD 209458 b, sector 56
The SPOC 120 s light curve and target pixel file for HD 209458 b, with archive URLs, byte counts, and SHA-256 digests. Acquisition record only.
This page records that two public archive products exist and were downloaded. It does not report a light-curve fit, a detrending step, or a transit time, and it makes no claim that sector 56 is absent from the published ephemeris.
Updated 25 October 2026. A later single-transit fit on this product set is recorded in Two real single-transit fits. That note supersedes the statements below that no transit time exists. The acquisition record on this page is unchanged.
How the target was chosen
The committed docket was walked in recorded order. A saturation guard skipped rows with a TESS magnitude below 7.0. The first row that passed was HD 209458 b at docket position 14, and its first sector, 56, returned both needed products. No other row or sector was probed.

Both files report TICID = 420814525 and SECTOR = 56 in their FITS headers.
The observation identifier is
tess2022244194134-s0056-0000000420814525-0243-s and the MAST obsid is
97942919. The source URLs and request times are in the acquisition record.
The files are copies. Neither was edited or recompressed, and the digests above were recomputed from the local files.
The docket flag
The docket marks sector 56 as POSTDATES_REFERENCE_YEAR because its recorded
start year is later than the year of the cited ephemeris. That is a one-sided
date comparison. It is not evidence that the published ephemeris omitted the
sector, and no such claim is made.
What this note does not do
- No light curve was fitted, detrended, or folded in this note.
- No transit time, period, depth, duration, or ephemeris is measured here.
- No transit or transit timing variation is claimed.
- No contamination ratio or nearby-source count is computed here.
Limits
- The archive response is a snapshot from 2026-10-23. Product availability and file bytes can change in a later MAST release.
- The record establishes that two products exist and were downloaded. It does not establish data quality, crowding, or whether the target shows a detectable transit in this sector.
